I just got this print in the mail from bestie Brit and it fits so perfectly! Our husbands like to build RC airplanes and fly them together so this is just fitting for our lil'guy who will be the Co Pilot.

Quick recap.....at my Dr.'s appointment today I learned that I gained 10 lbs in the last month.

Whoops.

Apparently that is a wee too much too fast. I don't feel that bad considering we had been out of town twice, which always means eating out more than usual. When my Doc asked what I had done differently I wanted to say, "well it was the first month that I actually wanted to eat, could eat, all without throwing up." But I just mentioned being out of town and that seemed to work.

My goals for this next month include no more juice...sad day, more water, no more Costco muffins in the morning, and no more Big Macs...that's the big one I failed to mention to the Doc for obvious reasons.

We just returned from a glorious trip to the island of Maui. Michael and I booked this vaca back in October and we had waited ever so patiently for it to arrive. We met up with Michael's older sister Cathy and her husband Jon. It was so fun to have these buddies with us. We ate plenty of shave ice, snorkeled, played at the beach, and even did some whale watching, and I gained 5 pounds in 4 days....awesome.

The weather was perfect to say the least and it was so nice to have another prego there with me so that I didn't feel like I was the only one who needed to go the bathroom every 20 minutes or when I needed to eat 6 meals a day instead of 3. You will notice that most of the pics I took are of me eating, ya...that happened a lot.

Michael and I just watched this movie tonight and we BOTH cried at the end...p.s. I have only seen Michael cry thrice.

It is a beautiful film about a family's search to help their autistic son via Shamans in Mongolia. Movies this good are few and far between these days. Another plus, it is a play instantly on Netflix.

Michael and I have this love for Mongolia. A year ago we watched a show called " The Long Way Round" with Ewan McGregor and his best friend Charley Boorman. They rode their motorcycles from London all the way around the world to New York. They drove through Mongolia and it honestly seems like the most magical place to me. Endless green rolling hills and warm people who are pretty removed from much of the outside world. It seems so wholesome there.

I hope you watch this movie and let it warm your heart like it did ours.

This was our sad attempt to document some of our activities from yesterday. We've been having a lot of fun and I wish she didn't have to leave me on Sunday.
We started the day off by having a Montage walk about, then we drove through Laguna, ate lunch in Balboa, and visited some puppies at the puppy store. It was a grand ole day.

We watched this movie last week and LOVED it. Talk about a solid, 100% wonderful movie for all ages. Trust me, you will NOT be disappointed.

In other news, Michael and I will be celebrating the New Year in San Diego. I've always bugged Michael about surprising me with a trip so that's just what he did for my Birthday. Love that boy. I plan on ordering room service, watching movies, sleeping, and pretty much anything else we choose.

While Hailey was gone, my parents remodeled the main floor and upstairs of our home. Hailey had no idea this was happening so she was surprised to see how the place had changed, as were all of us. Basically my little sister lives the life of a princess. She gets to sleep in her own bedroom, and has her own bathroom. Let's never forget how all five of us slept upstairs in bunk beds for 5 years...that's right...bunk beds.
If you didn't see my house before you might not be able to fully appreciate the glory...but we can:) Mom the designer did a fabo job and I still cannot believe how awesome our "NEW" house is. Plus, Dad's artwork has finally been hung...it's about time!

Meet my little Sister, Rosie...aka...Pudge.

She is a gem of a gal.

Let me explain.

As of recently, she is preparing to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mesa, Arizona. She is totally stoked and who wouldn't be? Arizona is beautiful, warm...yes...but magical to say the least. She is totally stoked and so are we. She will be missed but we've got to share the wealth, and who better to be on the receiving end than the good folks in Mesa.

When Rosi was 15, maybe 16 she decided that she wanted to put her long legs to use. So she decided to be a model. I will admit that us older sisters gave her a hard time. What teenage girl wouldn't jump at the thought of being a model. Pretty cool idea and dream for most, but reality for Pudge. She went to New York City to go to the open calls at several of the REAL DEAL modeling agencies and two days later boarded our flight back to Utah with a 3 year modeling contract with Elite Modeling Agency...ya that would be the same agency that all those girls on America's Next Top Model dream of. Several months later she packed her bags, moved to Manhattan and began living her dream of being a REAL model. From Manhattan she spent time in Singapore, Milan, and Tokyo as a runway Model and appeared in several magazines you may have heard of like Seventeen and Vogue to name a few.

The coolest part about all of this, is that she was and still is 100% hesitant to ever bring up her modeling career....her legit modeling career. She is totally humble and kind to all of her other sisters who weren't as blessed in the gene pool... we lovingly refer to her as the gene pool hog in the fam. There were times that she had to face mad clients oversees because she refused to wear shear clothing or be in shows like Victoria's Secret. Let's all remember that she is 16 years old at the time! Think that over for a minute. She lived far far from home with few good influences, yet she came out of the whole experience a better person even amid all the yuckiness of the modeling world. She focused on the good and is a true winner.

The modeling thing is awesome but that isn't truly why Rosi is Aaaamazing.

Once again, let me explain.

When Rosi was young and still to this day she was the sister who was most likely to share anything with you. Even if you had been mean to her 20 seconds prior, she would still share! Maybe this doesn't sound like a big deal but in a house full of girls, it beed a big deal!

Rosi is so quick to forgive and dish out hugs at all times. She is a friend to ALL, and she is always thinking of those who need some extra love.

Being her big sister, I have always felt like I had to keep up with her. She is always one step ahead and has been a true example to me in many ways.

Most importantly, she will be an awesome missionary because she is an awesome friend, sister, and daughter, so it only makes sense that she will be a fabo missionary. She excels at everything she does. She is the type of person you can look up to...quite literally.

I love you pudge.

This last week was a success. The fam came to town and needless to say we had a good time. We went to the beach, got sunburned of course, ate yummy things thanks to Mom, saw seals, ate Balboa bananas, saw Angela from The Office, went to the Getty in L.A., went to an Angels game (thanks to Chas....trying to add his bit of Sports in), saw puppies, and went on walks. This is just a small taste, a mere swig of what took place.

since i will be leaving the world of cars at the end of next month, my employers have been trying to find a replacement.....replace me....impossible...i know. i have had the great pleasure to meet some of these fine young men and i just have a few words i would like to say:

first. i thought it was common sense that if you are planning on meeting a possible employer you dress for the occasion regardless of whether or not you actually have an interview. if you are unsure of the dress standards of your future employer, it is always better to dress up , than down.

second. although many companies have a specific application they require you to fill out, bring a resume!

third. bring a pen, or some writing utensil and don't ask me for one.

fourth. be assertive. hold your head up high and act like you know what the heck you are doing.

maybe this is all a lost art, but seriously i fear for many young men and women who are trying to enter the work force without some of these basic skills.

i've been trying not to panic about the whole job situation in cali since as of yet, i have none for when we get down there. the biggest issue for me is finding a job that i will actually enjoy on a daily basis. a couple of weeks ago I stumbled across this lovely lady and her flower shop in san clemete. i've thought a lot about getting back into the flower scene since i dearly loved my job as the florist for the flower basket in provo. so, when i found downtown flowers you can imagine my excitement. krista jon is the owner of this delightful establishment and she is truly talented! move over martha stewart...you've got some new competition! can i just say how much i truly love her work! she is very gifted. i have been emailing her in hopes of helping out during her wedding season which has basically already started. she was kind enough to respond and she wants me to contact her when i get down to cali. this would be so happy!

this weekend was magical. michael and i drove down to california on friday and wanted to stay forever.

dear 80 degree weather, why are you so good to us?

the main goal of our trip was to narrow down a specific area in which to focus our apartment search...area found...ladera ranch. we love all the many parks and palm trees, cute little homes that are so magical and dreamy, kids playing and walking dogs, we belong here.

of course we had a classic v-day stroll down the beach at sunset. now and then, randomly, me and michael would find ourselves exclaiming, " i love california, and i love you!" when the time came to leave, i almost started crying. truth.

till we meet again, california in a short month when we get to come back and pick a cute little town home in ladera ranch...then it's only 1 more month till we get to live there for good. let the countdown begin.

This same time, 4 years ago I started an adventure with 7 other girls that would change my life. Spending 4 magical and cold months in Romania was somethin else. Too much to recount in words or pictures but I am so grateful that I got to share it with some pretty great gals. I think we all have those experiences in life that are almost like a time marker. This was one of those for me. It was the perfect amount of service mingled with adventure and crazy stories that I still think of today. Tiff, Angie, Elisa, Tedi, Mandi, Britt, and Kelly I wish we could jump back in time for just a few days and relive some of our adventures that we had together.

California! Here we come!

Yes, it is true. After many thoughts, charts, spreadsheets, and prayers, we have decided to take the job offer with Bloosky in Irvine, California. We are thrilled to say the least. Michael has already decided to buy a membership at the San Diego Zoo and I just can't wait for the beautiful weather. All are welcome to come stay in what I'm sure will be our tiny apartment filled with love.

Maybe now when we have kids their first words will be, "hey dude." We can only hope at this point. We will be moving some time at the end of April in order to be out there by May 10th which is Michael's first day. he is so excited to be back with his good work buddies and I am excited for the adventure!

This last week has been a wee bit crazy. Yes, after a six hour interview Michael was offered a job with Goldman & Sachs. We are really excited considering all the other interviewees had Mater's degrees. Michael's just that good. to make this situation a little bit tricky we have another offer from the company Michael has been working with for the last two years which would take us to the beautiful stake of California. So now we are trying to decide what job to take. There are pros and cons to both so we are having a little bit of a hard time choosing. We'll let you know when we decide which will be in the next few weeks.

Let the interviews begin!
Today, Michael is interviewing with Goldman Sachs in Salt Lake to be a computer analyst...whatever that means, and tomorrow he flies to Boise for another interview with a company up there called Clearwater. I feel so anxious to find out where we will be living in the spring. As of now it looks like we could be living in either California, Chicago, Salt Lake, Boise, and who else knows! Crazed! We are both super excited to see what the future brings and I just think I could love any of our options. Michael has truly been blessed when it comes to his computer skillz and his ability to communicate with other people who don't really understand computers all that well (like myself). This combination makes him quite unique in his field because as we loving refer to him, this cute nerd is the bomb.com!

This weekend was well spent at the family cabin. I must say that this was the most festive Halloween our family has ever had and boy was it fun. Hailey was missed, but other than that it was a blast. We dressed up, carved pumpkins, ate yummy food thanks to Mom, and enjoyed relaxing at the cabin.

Ever since I've been married, I have wanted a tufted headboard. I have searched and searched but am never able to find one that I can afford or even like. This all changed on Friday. Mom and Sam were at NPS Market Square (aka...the third world market) and they found not one, but two tufted headboards from Thomasville. How perfect! the best part, and always the best part about NPS is that they had been originally priced at $1000 but...they were marked down to $52! For all of those who have never been to NPS and live close or near to Salt Lake, it is a must. So, Sam picked the one pictured and mine is a dark olive green. I am thrilled to say the least. Another jewel found and purchased at NPS, a Card family favorite.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to sell a new Subaru Outback to Karen and her husband Kent. I liked these two from the moment I met them. I was impressed by the softness of their voices when they spoke to me, as well as to each other. As we talked and got to know each other, Karen told me that she was a sculptor. She handed me her card and I could not wait to hop online and check out more of her stuff here.

The best part about my job is getting to meet people like Karen who I would probably never have come into contact with otherwise. She is so talented and has clearly been blessed with a gift to create pieces of art that reflects the true character of people. I'll be driving down to Helper to deliver their new car this week so I will let you know how that goes because Karen has promised to give me the grand tour of her studio. I love new found friends.

A few weeks back, me and Mom got motivated to start canning food. We checked into pressure cookers and felt a little over whelmed. All the gaskets, pressure gauges, and valves seemed a little intense and life threatening so we moved down to something a little less intense. We decided to buy electronic pressure cookers. I must say that I feel very empowered by what Michael calls,

"the crickety crock pressure pot."

Just the other day I made chicken noodle soup that was delightful. All I had to do was put all the ingredients in, put the lid on, and wait for about 25 minutes. And just like magic, chicken noodle soup that tasted like it was straight from grandmas house, to mine.
The hard part about cooking for me is the waiting! When I'm hungry, I'm hungry and I do not have patience to wait that long. So this little investment has been well worth it. We found that Costco has them on sale for about $70...way cheaper than most places. It's also great because it comes with a wonderful little recipe/instruction manual that is so helpful, I appreciate that. For all those who don't have time to wait for the crock pot, maybe consider this little pressure pot that could run circles around the crock pot.

Last Christmas I was in desperate need of leather boots. Well, Santa failed me so this year I have been determined to find the perfect leather boot. Good news, they exist, and I found them! Yesterday I found myself at the wonderful Nordstrom Rack in Sandy. Must say that I love having both pairs of shoes available to try on, a luxury missed at the Sugar house N.R. I stumbled across these beautiful Sam Edelman Equestrian boots. It was love at first sight and I am so glad we found each other.

I have finally decided to re-enter the blogging world. I can't say that I have been greatly missed considering my last attempt was a failure from the beginning, however, I will be putting my best effort forward this time around. I guess for a while I have been spending most of my time in the blogging world only as an onlooker. Many of you keep up such wonderful blogs I feel so behind. Like, where does everyone get those cute backgrounds and graphics? You would think that being married to a computer engineer...aka...Nerd...aka....love of my life...would entitle me to a seriously out of this world blog, but that is not the case. The truth is that I haven't really asked him to help me. I have only myself to blame.

So I think I would like my blog to be about the happenings in my life as of yet. I have some catching up to do so hang in there! Where to start?

ALLLLLL Right! The last few months in review...

I graduated from BYU in Family & Community Studies and International Development!

Spent 6 LONG weeks in El Salvador without my Michael. I love Development work but I think that was my last HOOORA for some time. It was miserable to be away from him for so long, but I had a wonderful time and he was able to come down to pick me up. We spent a magical week traveling in El Sal and Guatemala.

So, I am travel satisfied for a few months....ssssssshhhh...I told Michael that I wouldn't bug him about taking me somewhere foreign for awhile after this last trip.....SOOOOooorrry. I have already begun to plot!

Right before I left for El Salvador I began the process of fulfilling, maybe not quite a life time goal, but something I have always thought I would want to try.... living the dream as a

Car Sales WOMAN!

Those of you who know me...are you really that surprised? I mean really, I'm crazed when it comes to trying out different jobs. Every time I find my self telling people what I do, I can't without a wee little laugh to myself. But yes, I am selling Subarus and just about any other car you might think of....I guess you could say that Subarus are my forte.

Why? you may ask. Well after a real bad experience buying my first car, I have always thought I could aid my fellow citizens in the what can often be a painful task of buying a new car. I figure there are too many boys in the industry and I wanted to change that. So there ya have it. Doing my small part to make the automotive industry that much better. After all, wouldn't you much rather buy a car from me than some badger of a sales guy who smells funny? I thought so.

So for the last few months, I have been working at Doug Smith Subaru in American Fork. I love the surprised look on peoples faces when I greet them at the door and I love making new friends everyday with the people I help to get into the car of their dreams....which is almost always a Subaru! They truly are great cars...move over Honda and Toyota, you little front wheel drive wonders...Subaru's are All wheel drive, top safety pick machines! The ONLY brand to receive MOTOR TRENDS Sporty Utility of the Year award TWO YEARS IN A ROW! I'm sold for life. Long story short, if you need a new ride of any kind (Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, KIA, Suzuki, and Subaru) and you want to avoid any weirdness, come see me. I'll take good care of you and we'll have fun in the process, I promise!
